Summary
Our vehicles operate onboard cameras and GPS tracking to protect people and property and to support operational needs. We process this data in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Maltese data protection law.

What we collect
- Video including audio and images captured by cameras installed within the vehicle.
- GPS location and trip metadata (timestamps, routes, speed).
- Vehicle sensor logs as applicable.
- Associated identifiers (vehicle ID, driver ID) and incident flags.
Legal basis for processing
- Legitimate interests: safety of drivers/public, theft prevention, incident investigation, operational efficiency and fleet management.
- Performance of contract or compliance with legal obligations.
Use of data (purposes)
- Investigating accidents, incidents and insurance claims.
- Driver training, performance monitoring and safety coaching.
- Theft prevention, vehicle recovery and security.
- Route planning, dispatch and operational management.
- Compliance with legal/regulatory requests.
Retention
- Routine footage and location data: retained for 30 days by default unless flagged.
- Incident-flagged footage or records relevant to investigations or legal claims: retained for up to 24 months or as required by law.
Signage and notice
- Vehicles display clear stickers/notices informing that cameras and GPS are in use, and providing a short URL or contact for the full privacy notice.
Data subject rights (EU/Malta) Where applicable under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Request rectification or erasure
- Restrict processing.
- Object to processing (including profiling) on grounds relating to your particular situation — we will assess any objection against our legitimate interests.
- Data portability (for data provided by you and processed electronically).
- Lodge a complaint with the Maltese supervisory authority, the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC): https://idpc.org.mt/ or info@dataprotection.gov.mt.
How to make requests

Provide proof of identity and sufficient details to locate records. We will respond within one month; complex requests may be extended by two further months with notice.
Sharing and disclosure
- Access is limited to authorised Agius Group personnel (safety, operations, legal).
- We share with contracted service providers, currently IOT Solutions Ltd.
- We will disclose data to law enforcement or regulators where legally required or with appropriate legal process.
Monitoring of persons in vehicles
- This privacy notice applies to all individuals captured by vehicle cameras or tracking systems, whether they are employees, contractors, passengers or members of the public. Where monitoring relates to employees/drivers, internal employment policies shall remain in force; however, employees are entitled to the same data‑protection rights and safeguards described in this notice.
